From Planning to Power: Energy Communities for Energy Transitions

This session explores how integrated energy planning frameworks can help achieve universal electricity access in remote and underserved communities.

Opening the session, IRENA Director-Innovation and Technology Centre, Mr. Mike Enskat said, “IRENA recognises the importance of energy planning, and this morning we focus the discussion on integrated energy planning for the achievement of universal energy access, taking examples from Senegal. IRENA’s ‘Strategic Energy Access Planning Support’ (SEAPS) programme is supporting countries by equipping them with and skills to implement data-driven planning, and that is key to attract investment towards energy access projects.”
