Sometimes a small change can make a big difference. For example, the three-point seatbelt, invented by Volvo engineer Nils Bohlin, was a simple modification to the previous two-point lap belt, which dramatically improved passenger safety in cars. By adding a single strap that crosses over the chest, this small design change significantly reduced fatalities and serious injuries in car accidents.
At Education Sciences we are also announcing a small change today, which, while of course nowhere near as consequential as the three-point seat belt, will, we think, make life easier for both authors and readers. If you are anything. Like me, you may have found the existing MDPI referencing style somewhat frustrating to use. You will then be pleased to hear that we are falling into line with the majority of journals in educational research and moving towards using APA style. This publication style was developed and is continually updated by the American Psychological Association and has been highly influential in our field. It is incorporated into all the main bibliographical software and apps, and guidelines for using the style can be easily found online and through your local or university library.
I hope you are as pleased with this small change as I am!
