First place, climate – Stranded by Raphael Alves
Euridice Castro, 33, holds her nephew Otavio in the window while her son Aquiles plays in the rising rivers, in Anama, Brazil. Anama has been an ‘amphibian city’ for years. Without work, adults stay at home most of the time, and children, without classes and public leisure spaces, are left to play in the flooded areas.
