Thank you for your support of Climate Solutions! We truly felt the strength of our movement last week, as more than 200 of us came together in Portland for our annual reception.
It’s no secret that 2025 has been a challenging year for climate advocacy, making our wins all the more worthy of celebration. In Oregon alone, we reinstated the Climate Protection Program; we secured a landmark rate case agreement requiring a gas utility to fund the transition to all-electric homes; we advanced policies to strengthen reliability and resilience for homes and businesses. And we helped secure critical protections for Oregon families and small businesses from rising energy costs.
A year of federal attacks on clean energy has put us on the defense in many ways, and there are fierce challenges ahead. But our Executive Director Gregg Small pointed out that renewable energy accounted for a staggering 93% of all new capacity added to the electrical grid in 2024. We have a lot of work to do, but the wind (and the sun) are at our backs.
As our Oregon Director Nora Apter reminded us: “If the past year has taught us anything, it is that bold action is possible, even in the face of adversity. As federal protections recede and climate disasters intensify, the Northwest’s role as a climate leader is more essential than ever. The stakes are rising. So is our resolve.”

I have deep gratitude for our speakers, sponsors, hosts, board, staff, and supporters for making this event possible.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on contributions to accomplish our mission. Now, more than ever, your support is critical for accelerating a just transition to a clean energy economy – one that includes 100% clean electricity for our grid, cleaner fuels and electrification to power our transportation, and clean and energy-smart buildings where we work and live.
Climate Solutions’ supporters are an integral part of our organization, and we are deeply grateful to those who have already donated towards our $75,000 goal. If you haven’t had the chance to make your donation yet, it’s not too late.
Thanks for all that you do!
